The old adage is, "Don't place all your egg's in one basket". We've all heard it many times, but have we ever really taken that advice? I mean, most of us use GMail, Google calendar, Facebook, Google's photo storage, or because we have a Mac or iPhone we use iCloud. Why? Well, because of ease of use and simplicity sake right?

Let's face it, one of the most valuable assets in business, apart from your customers, is your data. From QuickBooks finances to your customer database, even basic sales documents. Now, imagine having to invest the countless hours to re-input your sales documents that have been developed over years of business? Business data loss prevention is one of the most important investments you can make!

How often do you update your website?

It's a question not many business owners ask themselves on a regular basis. In all reality it's a much needed process that most companies should be doing monthly. Think of it as changing your oil on your vehicle, you wouldn't drive 1,000 miles past your change date would you? It's basically the same thing, websites need updating constantly depending on their mileage. The older the site the more probability that you are in many search results because of link backs.

After many years in the business (since 2001 as a company and working in IT since 1997) I've seen many things change in the industry as a whole. I remember the good 'ol days when I was excited by my next door neighbor buying a 14.4k internal modem connected over an ISA port. We were still running 9600 baud external through a serial port at my house. Now we have Google installing 1Gbps home connections in many cities around America. It's amazing how fast the world changes from year to year, day to day at a rate that seems unimaginable a few years ago.
